STEDEC Technology Commercialization Corporation of Pakistan facilitates MoST R&D organizations in their commercialization activities by developing effective and productive linkages with business community and industrial sector of Pakistan.
As part of these efforts, STEDEC invited officials of Highways Research & Training Centre (HRTC) of National Highways Authority (NHA) to visit PCSIR facilities at Peshawar and Lahore in order for HRTC to assess PCSIR facilities and capabilities, and how these could benefit NHA.
HRTC delegate, led by its Executive Director, Dr Shafeeq Ahmad visited PCSIR Peshawar on 16th August 2017 and PCSIR Lahore on 17th August 2017. Other members of the delegate included Dr. Aasim Inam, Director Design HTRC and Mr. Ataullah, Material Engineer HRTC.
The delegate was welcomed at Peshawar by Engineer Irfan Ahmed Rabbani, DG PCSIR Peshawar and Syed Raza Abbas Shah, MD STEDEC. At Lahore, the delegate was welcomed by Dr. Quratulain Syed, DG PCSIR Lahore and MD STEDEC.
At both locations, the delegate was given briefings on PCSIR’s expertise and capabilities, as well as shown around the facilities. HRTC officials showed keen interest in various facilities within PCSIR and expressed a desire to enter into some institutional mechanism for cooperation between the two organizations. Facilities visited at PCSIR Peshawar included Material Sciences Centre (MSC), Engineering Science Centre (ESC) etc. In Lahore the delegation was shown around PCSIR departments, Electrical and Measurement and Test Laboratory (EMTL), Pakistan Institute Technology for Mineral Advance Engineering Material (PITMAEM), Glass and Ceramics Research Centre (GCRC), Applied Chemistry Research Centre (ACRC) and other related facilities.
Executive Director HRTC appreciated STEDEC’s efforts in coordinating the visits and hoped the visits would result in development of effective linkages between NHA and PCSIR.
